Description:

Named for pioneering black individuals Benjamin Banneker and Frederick Douglass, the Banneker-Douglass Museum preserves and interprets the area's rich African-American heritage. Collections on display include artifacts and photos from throughout history, as well as notable African American art, historical documents, and rare books. The museum resides in the heart of the Historic District, inside the Old Mount Moriah A.M.E. Church.
